Huge brawl breaks out between two women after American Airlines plane lands

Shocking footage shows a brawl which broke out between two women on a plane - after reportedly rowing over who was going to get off first.

Frustrated passengers said they were delayed getting off the American Airlines flight because of the fight.

It happened on Sunday after the plane from Los Angeles landed at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

One passenger wrote on Twitter that she had an "anxiety attack after witnessing this".

Another fumed: "Almost missed my connecting flight with @AmericanAir in Phoenix because two girls decided to fist fight over who was getting off the plane first. I can’t."

Videos from inside the plane show people attempting to separate the brawling pair, and asking why the fight had broken out.

A woman is heard screaming at another to get off a seat as people fell over while trying to separate the two.

A crew member is heard saying: "Call for law enforcement, call for law enforcement."

An airline spokesperson told Fox News that no one had been injured in the incident.

"American received a report of an alleged altercation between two customers while waiting to deplane from flight 2275 from Los Angeles (LAX) to Phoenix (PHX)," they said.

Last week the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it was extending zero-tolerance policies, saying as the number of similar incidents is "far too high".

Administrator Steve Dickson said: "The policy directs our safety inspectors and attorneys to take strong enforcement action against any passenger who disrupts or threatens the safety of a flight, with penalties ranging from fines to jail time.

"The number of cases we're seeing is still far too high, and it tells us urgent action continues to be required."
